Call to fill Standards Committee vacancy

A Town or Community Councillor in Pembrokeshire is needed to take up a place on the Committee that promotes and maintains standards for councillors in the county.
The Standards Committee currently has a vacancy for a Town or Community Council member.
The Committee plays an important role at the Authority, including considering Public Service Ombudsman for Wales reports into alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct.
You must be a member of a Town or Community Council within the Pembrokeshire County Council area to be eligible to sit on the Standards Committee.

An application form will be sent and must be returned by 12th June 2026
Interviews will be held in late June 2026.
The exact amount of time required to fulfil this role is difficult to predict; however, the Standards Committee have four scheduled meetings a year, plus some other meetings as and when necessary.
The appointment shall be for the remainder of the Council’s term i.e. until the elections in May 2027 and may be extended for a further term of five years thereafter.
The Appointment Panel will interview and make recommendations to the Council based on the criteria prescribed.
