Community Clubs event inspires pupils at Prendergast School

More than 60 Year 3 pupils enjoyed an action-packed Community Clubs event at Prendergast School on Wednesday July 15, giving local children the opportunity to try a range of sports and connect with community clubs from across the county.
The event, organised by Sport Pembrokeshire, introduced pupils to rugby, cricket, football and golf through fun, inclusive coaching sessions delivered by local clubs and coaches.
Activities were provided by Haverfordwest Cricket Club, Haverfordwest County AFC and Haverfordwest Golf Club, alongside rugby sessions.
Young Ambassadors from Haverfordwest High VC School assisted coaches and encouraged pupils throughout the activities.
The event was made possible through sponsorship from Valero, helping to create valuable opportunities for young people to take part in sport and discover new activities within their local community.
Dan Bellis from Sport Pembrokeshire said: “It was lovely to see all the children enjoying themselves and taking part in a range of activities. A big thanks to all the children for their enthusiasm, the coaches and clubs who supported the event and to Valero for their sponsorship.”
The Community Clubs event forms part of ongoing efforts to inspire children to lead active lifestyles and strengthen connections between schools and local sports clubs.
