A Pembrokeshire County Council officer has been shortlisted for a national award in their field.
Nicola Griffiths, Local Land Charges Officer, has made the shortlist for the Unsung Hero award at the 2023 Land Data Awards for Excellence.
These awards, launched in 2008, are the only ones in the UK that recognise excellence and achievement in the profession with the winners to be announced at a prestigious event in Bristol later next month.
The Unsung Hero is voted for by the NLIS Hub helpdesk team – the experts at the National Land Information Service who interact with teams across England and Wales to resolve issues concerning land and property searches.
To create the shortlist, the helpdesk team nominates individuals or teams within Local Land Charges departments that they feel consistently strive to make the search process as seamless as possible.
“I was very pleased to be shortlisted, especially in the Unsung Hero category nominated by the team at the National Land Information Service,” said Nicola.
“It is fantastic to be recognised for the hard work we do as a team as the last two years have been very busy.”
Nicola has also been working on the digital transformation of the service, in conjunction with HM Land Registry, which will make land searches quicker and simpler for everyone when it goes live in next few months.
Rhian Young, Head of Law and Governance, said: “I’m really pleased that Nicola has been recognised in this way.
“Her team have been working non-stop in the complex and time-consuming process of transferring data to the Land Registry on top of conducting property searches in a busy market. Nicola always goes above and beyond.”
