Draft Welsh Language Strategy needs your input

A consultation has been launched in relation to the draft Welsh Language Strategy for the next five years.
Pembrokeshire County Council needs to produce and publish a five-year plan setting out how the Welsh language is promoted in Pembrokeshire, as part of the national Welsh Language Standards.
The Draft Welsh Language Strategy 2026-31 includes objectives, a target and an action plan that we will implement to help us achieve our objectives.
You can also view an Integrated Impact Assessment which includes our assessment of the impact the Strategy will have on the Welsh language and other issues, this information will help you to answer questions about this.

Cabinet Member for Education and the Welsh Language, Cllr Guy Woodham said: “This Welsh Language Strategy focuses on developing the use and visibility of the Welsh Language across the County and is supported by our Welsh in education strategy.
“Please take the chance to have your say on how we support the Welsh language over the next five years.”

The information gathered during the consultation will be used to help Members in deciding what the final Welsh Language Strategy 2026-31 will be.
Cabinet will consider these at its meeting in July 2026. A final decision will be made by Council at its meeting in July 2026.
The closing date for completed responses is 22 March 2026, by 5pm.
