The dates have been announced for the public hearing sessions forming part of the independent examination of the Pembrokeshire Local Development Plan (LDP) 2.

This is an emerging replacement Development Plan for locations in Pembrokeshire, except those in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The examination, which is being conducted by Ian Stevens BA (Hons) MCD MRTPI, appointed by the Ministers of the Welsh Government in October 2025, will include three weeks of hearing sessions during November and December 2026.

The sessions will begin at 10am on:

  • Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 November 2026
  • Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 November 2026
  • Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 December 2026

The hearing sessions will be held virtually and will be open to members of the public to observe.

Details of each session, including the matters being considered and those taking part (the participants), are available in the Hearing Sessions and Examination Documents sections of the LDP 2 examination webpage.

A guidance note, explaining the examination process, is available in document ED30, which is also listed on the examination webpage.

The examination will consider all aspects of the emerging replacement Plan, including the Council’s overall strategic approach and the allocation of specific sites within the plan area for a variety of purposes, including future housing and employment uses.

Following the Examination Hearings, the Inspector will prepare a report whose conclusions will be binding on the Council.  Once this is to hand, the Council will then be able to adopt the new Plan, in the form directed by the Inspector.

The examination process is being managed by Deborah Williamson, Programme Officer, under the Inspector’s instructions.

Anyone with queries about the examination can contact the Programme Officer by email at programmeofficer@pembrokeshire.gov.uk or by telephone on 01437 775545.

The documents submitted as part of the examination are available on the LDP 2 submission webpage.
