Further consultation on next stage in plan overseeing development in Pembrokeshire

Ymgynghoriad pellach ar gam nesaf y cynllun sy’n goruchwylio datblygiad yn Sir Benfro

Following a public consultation last year “focused changes” have been made to the overarching guidance for planning developments in Pembrokeshire until 2033.

The Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) and supporting documents, including the Sustainability Appraisal Report, Delivery Agreement and Consultation Report has been submitted to the Welsh Government for examination.

A consultation on the Deposit Plan 2 version of the Local Development Plan 2, covering all areas apart from the National Park, was held in Autumn 2024.

In response to representations received ‘focused changes’ are made to ensure the Plan is sound before it is examined by an independent Inspector appointed by the Welsh Government.

These focused changes will be subject to a formal six-week public consultation between Monday 4th August and midnight on Monday 15th September prior to the examination.

This will provide an opportunity for representations to be made to support or object to these specific changes only. All of the responses will be forwarded directly to the Planning Inspector.

The schedule of focused changes and the submission documents are available to view at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/local-development-plan-review/focused-changes and https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/local-development-plan-review/submission

Paper copies of the documents are also available at County Hall, Haverfordwest and in local libraries during normal opening hours.

Any representations at this stage of the Plan preparation process must relate to the focused changes and should not propose further changes to the Plan.

Representations made on the Deposit Plan do not need to be resubmitted. All representations about the Plan will be available for the public to view.

An independent Planning Inspector will be appointed by Welsh Government to conduct an Examination in Public to determine whether the Plan is sound. Notice will be given at least six weeks before the opening of the Examination.
