Plans for Tenby Market Hall move forward following successful community engagement

Plans to revitalise Tenby Market Hall are progressing following a successful public engagement event that attracted strong interest and valuable feedback from residents, traders, businesses, and stakeholders.
The engagement event provided an important opportunity for the community to share its views on the future of the historic Market Hall. Feedback received has been carefully reviewed and is now being incorporated into the developing proposals, helping to shape plans that reflect local priorities and aspirations.
In addition to the wider public engagement, the Council has undertaken early discussions with Market Hall traders, providing an opportunity to showcase the emerging designs and gather initial feedback ahead of the public release of proposals. This early engagement has helped ensure that the views of traders, who play a vital role in the Market Hall's future success, are reflected in the evolving plans.
The project has also received a significant boost through the securing of Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) investment, which is enabling the next stage of design development. This funding supports the preparation of detailed plans and demonstrates a commitment to delivering a regeneration project that will bring lasting benefits to Tenby town centre.
The Council is now preparing to release the designs in the coming weeks. These plans will provide a clearer picture of the emerging proposals and will be shared publicly to gather further feedback before the project progresses to the next phase.
Local Member, Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said "It was really encouraging to see residents and traders attend and share their ideas and feedback from the very start of this project. Their input is invaluable and will help shape designs that genuinely reflect the needs and aspirations of the local community. The market sits at the heart of Tenby, and I'm looking forward to seeing it become an even more vibrant focal point for the town for years to come."
Community engagement will remain at the heart of the project. As plans develop, a further public questionnaire will be issued, providing another opportunity for residents, traders, stakeholders, and visitors to share their views and help influence the final design.
