A young Gold Ambassador for Pembrokeshire has received a special award to recognise her work in influencing, leading and inspiring others to become more active.
Carys Ribbon, a pupil at Haverfordwest High VC School, received the award from the Youth Sport Trust.
Carys offers her time not only in school but also in the wider community, where she has recently assisted the delivery of inclusive sessions at Portfield School and supported children aged four to six at the Haverfordwest multi-skills club.
She has also completed the FAW Football Leaders Award in readiness to start football coaching sessions with children with additional learning needs.
Rominy Colville from Sport Pembrokeshire, which supports the Young Ambassador programme, praised Carys for her dedication.
“Carys started her Young Ambassador journey as a Year 8 pupil at Tasker Milward School, going on to become a Silver Ambassador at Haverfordwest High, where she helped with a variety of activities such as primary school festivals and inter form competitions,” said Rominy.
“We’re really pleased that her dedication and amazing work has been recognised, and would like to thank her for all the support she gives to young people in Pembrokeshire and helping them to have a healthy active lifestyle.”
Carys is one of 10 Gold Young Ambassadors in Pembrokeshire, where the programme is supported by Sport Pembrokeshire.
