Pembrokeshire Libraries are proud to announce their participation in the Period Dignity ‘Grab Bag’ scheme to help combat period poverty in our communities.
Local residents can now pick up free ‘Grab Bags’ of sanitary products from the majority of Pembrokeshire Libraries.
The scheme has already been piloted in Pembroke Dock Library, and due to its huge success has been rolled out in more library settings across the County.
Cathy Butler, Site Coordinator Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Libraries said: “Pembrokeshire Libraries are really pleased to be taking part in this important scheme, helping to provide free sanitary products in a dignified way.
“The initial trial in Pembroke Dock Library has been very well received, and by including more of our library sites we hope to take a big step towards period poverty being a thing of the past.
“We encourage anyone who may be in need of period products to come into any of the participating venues and simply ask for a ‘Grab Bag’ at reception.”
Thanks to Welsh Government funding of the Period Dignity Grant, Pembrokeshire County Council will continue to work with local partners to provide free period products in the most dignified way possible to those in need.
