Join us in Pentre’r Garreg Las

nEisteddfod y Garreg Las, to be held in the north of the county from 1 to 8 August, will be an eight-day celebration of Welsh language, creativity and culture.

Pentre'r Garreg Las, positioned near the entrance of the Eisteddfod Maes at Llantwd, represents the Eisteddfod region, which also includes communities in south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire.

The Pentre is a lively, welcoming space, celebrating the area through its culture, people and stories. Attractions include two tents hosting talks, music, performances and demonstrations, a rodeo sheep, adventure golf and underwater VR.

There will also be displays and exhibitions from Visit Pembrokeshire, Pembrokeshire Archives and Pembrokeshire Education.

The theme of Pentre'r Garreg Las is based on the acronym PAWB, and represents the four main themes running through the programme, reflecting everything the region has to offer, including people, environment, local language and food.

The Pabell PAWB tent features a varied programme celebrating the region's talent, culture, and creativity, while Pabell Pentigili is an outdoor stage offering a warm welcome to visitors, featuring live music, storytelling, and performances showcasing local talent from across the west.

Blas o'r Fro cooking sessions will celebrate the produce, flavours, and food stories of the Preseli region.

The Pentre’s slogan ‘Hen Derfyn Nad Yw'n Darfod’, translated as ‘An Ancient Boundary That Never Ends’, was suggested by Archdruid Mererid Hopwood, inspired by a poem by Dewi Emrys. The words reflect the area's history and heritage, the connection to the coast and the landscape, and the idea that the past continues to shape the future.

The National Eisteddfod’s App is now live, featuring details of events happening across the Maes each day, including a packed timetable for Pentre’r Garreg Las.
